Hello! I'm Stéphane. If you're a competitive Pokémon TCG player, chances are that you've heard about me, even if only as "that guy who keeps talking about the Expanded format".
I've written for many TCG strategy websites in the past (Pokébeach, ChannelFireball, TCGPark...), and to this day I still occasionally contribute to the official Pokémon website, but due to changes in my life, philosophy and approach to the game, I don't want to write paywalled articles anymore. Basically, I don't feel like testing every deck in the format just so I can find one to write about, I think it would be unethical to make people pay for something that does not meet my criteria for excellence, and I don't think I can write about Gardevoir ex (or whatever deck is my current obsession) every week or even month.
However, I still like to write. Sometimes, there are sentences in my head that I just need to get out, and I still think I have ideas worth sharing, even if I can't do it on a regular schedule.
So this is what I came up with. On this blog, I'll write whatever I want, whenever I want, without worrying about views or likes or anything like this. There will probably be resources on the TCG Expanded format, because I've dedicated a lot of time to it, and I've seen too many people complain that it's hard to find any information on the Internet. But I might also write about other Pokémon stuff. I might review games. I might talk about game design since I've dabbled in it (I've worked on custom TCG sets and on a romhack). I might do an analysis of the Pokémon Adventures manga. I might even talk about non-Pokémon things if I feel like it, or write in French at some point. You've been warned.
